Petals (old) are the weapons used by players in florr.io. Players start out with five petal slots and can have additional slots for every 15 levels they level up (adding one slot) until level 45, with a total of eight petals slots at a time. They can also store up to eight petals in their inventory to keep them for later use.
When colliding with mobs or other flowers, petals deal damage to them, while also receiving damage and lowering their durability. When their durability is depleted, they will be destroyed temporarily and will appear again once recharged. Switching out petals also recharges them first before they appear.
You can switch and throw out petals by using numeric keys. Using the keys E and Q you can select different petals in your inventory, and by using the number keys one through eight, you can switch petals around. You can click and drag a petal where you want. If you place a petal where a petal is already occupying, there will switch places in your inventory. When you want to throw out a petal, select it and press the letter T. You can also drag a petal by clicking and dragging it to the red box located at the bottom right of your inventory. Selected petals in your inventory appear larger and slightly bobble. To completely switch your inventory you need to press the key X. In addition, when you throw out petals, you gain experience. The amount of experience you get depends on the rarity of the petal.
All petals obtained by the player during gameplay will have their icons saved in Petal Gallery. It will also show up in the Mob Gallery, showing what petal drops from what mob, with percentages for each one. Note that clearing out the browser's cache/cookies will also reset both Petal and Mob Gallery, removing all found petals.
Note: Please don't post petal ideas in the comments. Go to Reddit to post ideas for petals. Alternatively, you can create a fantasy idea page.
Note: For the most accurate information, it is advised that you use Thrawn's petal sheet. This wiki can be edited by anyone so there may be errors.
Types of Petals
Common (Green)
All Common petals, with the exception of Basic, give 2 XP when deleted and have a despawn time of 30 seconds. These are the weakest and most common petals in the game.
- Basic: The default petal, which takes up as many top slots as they can that don't have any other petal in them. They can only be obtained when the player spawns in since there is nothing that drops them. They deal 10 damage, have 10 health/durability, and takes 2.5 seconds to recharge. Due to being the starter petal, this do not give experience when trashed.
"A nice petal, not too strong but not too weak"
- Fast: Common petal sometimes or rarely dropped by most insects and rarely by Rocks, Fast petals takes only a half second to recharge, but only deal 8 damage and have less durability than a Basic petal, at 5 health.
"Weaker than most petals, but recharges quickly"
- Heavy: Common petal often dropped from Rocks and usually by Boulders, Heavy petals takes 5.5 seconds to recharge, but deal 20 damage and have 20 health/durability.
"Very resilient and deals more damage, but recharges very slowly"
Unusual (Yellow)
All Unusual petals give 10 XP when deleted and have a despawn time of 30 seconds. Some of these are considered better than rare petals.
- Iris: Unusual petal sometimes dropped from Beetles, Solder Ants, Spiders, usually by evil Centipedes and always by Ant Holes and Massive Beetles. Iris petals deal 5 damage but inflict 60 poison damage upon hitting mobs and other players for 6.67 seconds. They have low durability of 5 health and takes 6 seconds to recharge.
"Very poisonous, but takes a little while to do its work"
- Leaf: Unusual petal sometimes dropped from Baby Ants, Soldier Ants, and Centipedes. It is similar to a rose, except that it heals you at 1 HP per second. A leaf deals 8 damage, has 8 durability, and takes 1 second to recharge.
"Gathers energy from the sun to heal your flower passively"
- Rose: Unusual petal sometimes dropped from ladybugs and always dropped from the yellow and massive variants. Rose petals are mainly used for quicker healing, and otherwise, deal 5 damage and have 5 health/durability, plus taking 3.5 seconds to recharge, with an additional delay before healing the player. Roses cannot be repelled, though they can retract like other petals by pressing shift.
"Its healing properties are amazing. Not so good at combat though"
- Stinger: Unusual petal infrequently dropped from Bees, Spiders, and Cacti (mob). Stingers inflict 35 damage on contact but only have 8 durability and takes 4 seconds to recharge.
"It really hurts, but it's very fragile"
- Twin: Unusual petal sometimes or rarely dropped from most insect mobs and always by a Queen Ant. Twin petals are basically two Fast petals in one slot, with each having separate health. A single Twin has 5 health/durability, 0.5 seconds of recharge time and deals 8 damage.
"Why stop at one? Why not TWO?!
Rare (Blue)
All Rare petals give 50 XP when deleted and have a despawn time of 40 seconds. This category has more petals than any of the other categories.
- Bubble: Rare petal rarely dropped from Bees, Ladybugs, infrequently by Hornets, Yellow and Dark Red Ladybugs and always by Massive Ladybugs. If you right click it will pop and propel your flower. It does not deal damage. Has 1 health and takes 3.5 seconds to recharge, Good for escaping other players.
"You can right click to pop it and propel your flower"
- Cactus: Rare petal infrequently dropped from Cacti (mob). It is not very strong but increases your maximum health. Cactus petals deal 5 damage, have 15 health/durability, and takes 1 second to recharge, increases maximum HP by 20
"Not very strong, but somehow increase your maximum health"
- Dandelion: Rare petal sometimes dropped by Hornets. Dandelions can be used as projectiles. It will prevent healing for 10 seconds if a target is hit by it and it will make a flower pale yellow and frowning. It deals 5 damage, has 10 health/durability and takes 2 seconds to recharge.
"Its interesting properties prevent healing effects on affected units"
- Faster: Rare petal infrequently dropped from Soldier Ants, Spiders and always by Queen Ants. Makes other petals spin faster around yourself by 0.8 radians per second and petal. This petal buff can be stacked, meaning that your petals become faster with every 'faster' petal you use. Not to be confused with the common Fast Petal (its name is changed to prevent confusing). It deals 8 damage, has 5 durability, and takes 0.5 seconds to recharge, For those who want to use the Ring of doom.
"It's so light it makes your other petals spin faster"
- Honey: Rare petal infrequently dropped by Hornets and rarely by Bees. When it hits another flower, it slows all of their petals and the player down. The Honey petals deal 10 damage and durability, and takes 1.7 seconds to recharge.
"This is so sticky it slows down whatever it hits"
- Missile: Rare petal infrequently dropped from Hornets and rarely from Cacti (mob). Missiles can be used as projectiles like Dandelions, launched by left-clicking and shooting it outwards similarly to Hornet projectiles. When shot it cannot be manually controlled, and must be timed to hit objects. It is one of the three Rare petals that came when the game was launched. They deal 35 damage, have a durability of 10 health, and takes 3 seconds to recharge.
"You can actually shoot this one"
- Peas: Rare petal infrequently dropped by Centipedes. Peas can be used as projectiles and can be splitted and launched in 4 directions. Each pea does 8 damage, has 5 health/durability (20 before being launched) and takes 1.4 seconds to recharge.
"4 in 1 deal"
- Rock: Rare petal rarely dropped from Rocks and infrequently by Boulders. Rocks have the third highest durability and reload among all petals (second before Corn and Rice were added and first before Heaviest were added). It is one of the three Rare petals that came when the game was launched. It has 90 health, takes 10 seconds for it to recharge, and deals 10 damage per hit.
"Extremely durable, but takes a long time to recharge"
- Rose (Rare): Rare petal sometimes dropped from Dark Red and Yellow Ladybugs and always by Massive Ladybugs. It's basically three smaller Roses in one slot, which each having separate health and heal amount. Each individual rose heals less than an Unusual Rose, but combined, heal 0.5 more. Each has 5 health/durability, deals 5 damage, heals by 3.5 health, and takes 3.5 seconds to recharge.
"Its healing properties are amazing. Not so good at combat though"
- Salt: Rare petal infrequently dropped by beetles. It reflects 25% of the damage you take to the flower that dealt the damage. Best used against poison petals. Its effect cannot be stacked, It's one of the newer petals in florr.io, being added on 11/2/2020. It has 10 durability and damage, and takes 2 seconds to recharge.
"Reflects some of the damage you take back to the flower that dealt it. Does not stack with itself"
- Web: Rare petal infrequently dropped by Spiders. When you left-click, the Web shoots out and sets a big cobweb which reduces the movement speed of anything (except Petals and Spiders) within its hitbox by 75%. It has 5 health, deals 8 damage, and takes 3 seconds to recharge, while the Cobweb lasts for 10 seconds. You can have a maximum of 3 cobwebs shot out per web petal (the 4th one you shoot will make the first one disappear). Cobwebs deal no damage.
"It's really sticky"
- Wing: Rare petal sometimes dropped by Ant Holes, Massive Beetles and Queen Ants, and infrequently dropped by some insect mobs except Centipedes, Worker Ants, and Baby Ants. Wings wave back and forth from the player's flower when they are attacking, similar to a boomerang, and increases the basic attack range slightly. It is one of the three Rare petals that came when the game was launched. They deal 15 damage and health/durability, and takes 1.25 seconds to recharge.
"It comes and goes"
Epic (Purple)
All Epic petals give 200 XP when deleted and have a despawn time of 50 seconds. They are some of the best petals in the game being powerful, especially in large quantities.
- Cactus (Epic): Epic petal rarely dropped from Cacti (mob). It increases your maximum health by 20 HP and makes your flower poisonous, adding a poison damage of 40 to ramming on top of the normal 25 damage at 9 damage per second for 4.4 seconds. The Cactus itself also has poison damage of 6 damage per second for 1.5 seconds. Ignoring the poison, it deals 5 damage, has 15 durability, and takes 1 second to recharge
"Increases your maximum health and makes your flower toxic. Enemies hit by your flower will get poisoned"
- Corn: Epic petal Rarely dropped by Worker Ant. They respawn the slowest out of all in the game, but have the highest health of all them, having a whopping 2000 health. If you get it, try to use it to get better petals because they take a long time to respawn, 35 seconds, meaning it is unreliable as defense. Compared to other petals, corn has a very small hitbox. It deals 2 damage per hit.
"Takes a long time to spawn, but has a lot of health"
- Egg: Epic petal infrequently dropped by Queen Ants and Ant Holes. It spawns a 'pet' Soldier Ant that will follow you until they die, at which point the Egg begins recharging. 'Pet' soldier ants will chase players and mobs near you. They will come back to you after passing a certain range. The Egg takes 1.5 seconds to respawn + 1 second to hatch the pet, has 50 health/durability and deals 1 damage per hit. The pet Soldier Ant's stats are the same as a normal Soldier Ant.
"Something interesting might pop out of this"
- Heaviest: Epic petal rarely dropped from Boulders. They have the second highest durability among all petals (first before Corn and Rice were added), boasting 200 health, but takes a long time of 20 seconds to recharge. Despite being strong and durable, it only deals 10 damage per hit, so it's not the best for combat.
"This thing is so heavy that nothing gets in the way"
- Peas (Epic): Epic petal dropped sometimes by Evil Centipedes and very rarely from Centipedes. The petal is much like the Rare Peas, but now with extra poison damage. They deal 8 damage on contact and 10 poison damage over 1 second, takes 1.4 second to respawn and have 20 HP of durability. Slightly better than the Rare Peas.
"4 in 1 deal, now with a secret ingredient: poison"
- Pollen: Epic petal that drops rarely when a player dies with rare petals (1% chance per rare petal they own for up to 3 rare petals to drop as pollen. This chance increases if you already have a Pollen). This petal comes in groups of 3 and drops behind upon click, and deals damage like a landmine so that anyone who steps on it takes damage. A single Pollen has 5 health/durability, 1 second of recharge time, and deals 8 damage.
"Asthmatics beware"
- Rice: Epic petal rarely dropped from Baby Ants. These petals are weak, but respawn very quickly (almost instantly). They have similar stats to a Fast petal, but respawn in 0.04 seconds (they actually respawn instantly, but they need 0.1 seconds to goes from flower into orbit), making this effective with fasters. It's best to use more than one of these. It has a durability of 8 and deals 5 damage
"Spawns instantly, but not very strong"
- Rose (Epic): Epic petal rarely dropped by Dark Red Ladybugs and always dropped by Massive Ladybugs. It is a stronger variant of the Unusual Rose petal, providing a stronger healing effect. It deals 5 damage, has 5 health/durability, and takes 3.5 seconds to recharge.
"Extremely powerful rose, almost unheard of"
- Triplet: Epic petal infrequently, rarely or very rarely dropped from most insect mobs. Triplet petals are basically three Fast petals in one slot, and each having separate health. A single Triplet has 5 health/durability, 1 second of recharge time, and deals 8 damage, This is good for using the Ring of Doom, too.
"How about THREE?!"
- Yin Yang: Epic petal infrequently dropped by Dark Red Ladybugs. This petal changes the movement of your petals, it can make petals spin counterclockwise, stop spinning entirely, or make them move at supersonic speed (for more details, click on the link for a table). They deal 15 damage, have 15 durability, and take 1 second to recharge.
"This mysterious petal reverses the rotation direction of your petals"
Legendary (Red)
All Legendary petals give 1000 XP when deleted and have a despawn time of 60 seconds. These are extremely strong and useful, but very hard to find.
- Antennae: Legendary petal very rarely dropped by Hornets. It won't appear as a petal, instead, an antenna will be worn on your flower, leaving Antennae with 0 damage, durability and respawn time. This "petal" makes your field of view zoom increase by 45%, but can't be stacked. It will also take up a slot as a petal.
"Allows your flower to sense foes further away"
- Cactus (Legendary): Legendary petal extremely rarely dropped by Cacti (Mob). It is basically three Rare Cactus petals in one slot, while each Cactus having the same effects as the Rare variant. Increases your maximum health 2x more than the Rare variant does (40 HP in total, 13.3 HP total). Each cactus does 5 damage, have 15 health/durability and respawns in 1 second
"Not very strong, but somehow increases your maximum health"
- Egg (Legendary): Legendary petal rarely dropped by Massive Beetles. It is a variant of the Epic Egg petal and has the same name in-game, like other Legendary petals, but it appears to be bigger than the Epic variant and spawns a 'pet' Beetle that will passively follow you until they die, at which point the egg will recharge. They will chase players and mobs near you. The pet Beetle has the same stats as a normal Beetle, while the Egg petal has the same stats, except the reload, as the Epic variant.
"Something interesting might pop out of this"
- Peas (Legendary): Legendary petal rarely dropped from evil centipedes. These are like Peas (Epic), but each individual pea is the size of the Basic petal. Being larger than the Epic variant, they cover more area, deal more damage and their poison effect lasts longer. It deals 20 damage in poison and has a body damage of 10 HP per Pea. It has 20 health/durability and takes 1.4 seconds to respawn
"4 in 1 deal, now with a secret ingredient: poison"
- Stinger (Legendary): Legendary petal rarely dropped by Queen Ants. It is basically three Unusual Stinger petals in one slot, with each having separate health and damage. Each stinger has 8 health/durability, deals 35 damage, and takes 4 seconds to respawn. Together, the Stingers deal 105 damage and have 24 health/durability.
"It really hurts, but it's very fragile"
- Web (Legendary): Legendary petal very rarely dropped by Spiders. It is basically three Rare Web petals in one slot. When shot, they cover a much larger area than a single Rare Web petal. The slowing effect stacks, so it slows down players most when player is in the middle. Each Web has 5 health/durability, deals 8 damage, and takes 3 seconds to recharge, while the Cobwebs lasts for 10 seconds. Together, the Webs deal 24 damage and have 15 health/durability. You can have a maximum of 3 sets of cobwebs shot out per web petal (the 4th set you shoot will make the first set disappear).
"It's really sticky"
Unique (Pink)
All Unique petals give 2500 XP when deleted and have a despawn time of 60 seconds. Though hard to find, it's just for show-off. The two in-game uniques all have stats that are the same as a basic.
- Square: Unique petal always (actually not because 2 Unique petals cannot be in the same server) dropped from the very rare square mob. In the first days of the game squares would spawn in abundance at the far right of the map (??? zone) due to it being the only possible location of them spawning. This was fixed in update 1/20/20. They are simply a cosmetic petal and operates exactly the same way as the Basic petal. This is a reference to the game diep.io, another game by the developer of florr.io (where most florr.io players came from) where the Square petal exists as a common shape with the same name and appearance. Because of its rarity (and because people want to show-off as mentioned above), others will most likely attack you if they see you with it.
"This shape... it looks familiar..."
- Basic (Unique): Unique petal that has a 0.1% chance to appear in a players petal slot upon spawning (except if there's another Unique petal). It acts the same way as the Common variant, but has a trail and moves differently like a Wing petal. This petal is the same as the Common variant and is probably a joke. This petal functions as a weaker version of wing and its power is as much as an Unusual petal. Again, like the Square petal, other players will most likely target you.
"Something incredibly rare and useless"
