The Square (Petal) is an original, Unique petal inspired by Zeach's previous game diep.io. It is the only petal with a square appearance and is one of the rarest petals in the game.

Appearance

A yellow, square petal with a dark yellow outline, resembling the squares in diep.io. It is relatively large compared to other petals and is easy to identify in any load-out making it hard to keep out of sight.

Damage: 10 HP

Durability: 10 HP

Respawn: 2.5 seconds

Despite the rarity of the petal, the Square functions the same as the Basic petal. Its only function is to be a nice reference.

Obtaining

There's only one way, and it takes a long time:

If you see a square, kill it for the petal effective immediately. You can't lose this special opportunity or someone else might find it and get the square.
See a person with a square? Follow them, and wait until they die, then get the petal. You can also kill them at that instant, or can pose as a friend to betray them later.

Tips

Its behavior is neutral like the Basic petal. "Not too strong but not too weak." It orbits the petal like any other regular. Although It isn't an extremely helpful petal as you proceed through zones, (but If you are at level 45 and above then what Is there doesn't apply) It is still a persuasive petal and you would probably find no problem with taking up a slot. Just make sure you got everything going pretty smooth because this attracts attention. This petal may not be very useful In fighting though so you may want an extra petal there to switch out.
As they serve the same functionality with Basic petal save for rarity and appearance, Squares can be trashed for a whopping 2500 XP, granting the player multiple level-ups. Players should be wary of this, as they might have to quickly exit their current zone due to being over-leveled, or risk becoming vulnerable from being unable to use their petals.
While it rather depends on how others react, showing off a Square petal might attract other players into attacking the one using it, since nearly everyone also wants it (especially since the Square is guaranteed to drop with a 100% chance, when the one using it dies, due to the drop system for player-held petals prioritizing petals of the highest rarity). It does not help that there is a maximum of one square petal per server at any time. ^[1]
However, the Square is great for attracting people to kill. Try to use a good build (like the Arsenal, Quick Ripper, Boulder, Hypersonic Cinderblock, etc.)
It will also make you be targeted by other players if you are using this as one of your petals, because the Square petal is extremely rare so other players will want to kill you to get it. Don't be surprised if a lot of people start chasing you.
You may opt to keep It hidden because since its appearance is almost unforgettable and its reputation even more so; however, it can be used to show off to other players and can be used if you're looking for a fight (just be prepared to fight many flowers at once).

History/Trivia

Before ending up in florr.io, as stated earlier in lesser detail, they were originally the weakest polygon in diep.io.

Prior to update 1/20/20, the Square mob would mostly spawn in the "???" region of the map, and at a high rate, due to the fact that they were the only mobs that could spawn in that zone of the map. ^[2] At that time, the Square petal's rarity was Unusual.

The Square mob now has a very low chance to spawn anywhere, and guarantees a Square petal drop when destroyed, unless there is already a Square petal being carried by a player. If so, the Square mob will drop nothing.

As of update 2/19/20, the Square rarity has changed from Legendary to Unique.

This petal is currently the petal to have undergone the most changes in rarity, with two changes (Unusual > Legendary > Unique), second place going to Dandelion, with one change (Epic > Rare).
