The map of florr.io is divided into four Zones, with each ordered based on "difficulty". Since February 1st, 2020, each zone has different map background to distinguish them from one another.
Note that for every 15 levels the player gains, they will lose the ability to attack in the zone before. For example, a player will lose the ability to attack in the Easy zone at level 15 and the Medium zone at level 30. When this happens the screen is dimmed, your petals will disappear after few seconds, and a message is displayed that says, "You are overleveled for this zone. MOVE RIGHT->".
Zones:[]
Easy[]
Players most commonly spawn in the easy zone, which is the left-most area. No aggressive mobs spawn here, with the exception of the worker ant which is only aggressive after being attacked. It has a green background and only players levels 1 to 14 can use their petals to attack. Mobs:
Playing in the Easy Zone
In the Easy zone, most players are armed with Common Petals, and are not able to deal large amounts of damage so far. The player is advised to grind out better petals by killing Centipedes, Bees and Ladybugs. When the player is satisfied with their petals, they are advised to move towards the next zone, which is the Medium zone, to obtain better petals (unless they see a massive ladybug, in this case they should try get Rose (Epic)).
Medium[]
The medium zone is located between the Easy Zone and the Hard Zone. It has a yellow background, and only players levels 1 to 29 can use their petals to attack. Mobs:
- Bee
- Beetle
- Massive Beetle
- Baby Ant
- Worker Ant
- Soldier Ant
- Queen Ant
- Ant Hole
- Centipede
- Cactus
- Evil Centipede
- Ladybug
- Ladybug (Yellow)
- Square
Playing in the Medium Zone
In this zone, players are armed with better petals, and usually start to organize their petals into a Build. The player is advised to know the Builds, and be prepared to counter them should the need arise. To gain better petals, the player should always attack all mobs available. These mobs will drop petals that are included in S-Tier Builds. The player should be aware at this point, that they will likely be attacked by other flowers, especially if they have good petals. To counter this, the player must be aware of methods of evasion and PvP, and should know that it is always better to not commit themselves to a fight, unless they are continuously attacked.
Hard[]
The Hard Zone is located between the Medium Zone and the ? Zone. It has a red background, and only players levels 1 to 44 can use their petals to attack. Mobs:
- Bee
- Beetle
- Massive Beetle
- Baby Ant
- Worker Ant
- Soldier Ant
- Queen Ant
- Ant Hole
- Centipede
- Spider
- Boulder
- Hornet
- Evil Centipede
- Ladybug
- Square
Playing in the Hard Zone
In the Hard Zone, there are many mobs that will attack as you approach them, and players with a high skills level that may attack you. Spiders are not especially to be feared, as they can be killed with high DPS builds, or by dilating your petals by spamming the relevant attack button. Hornets must be killed as soon as possible, or, if the player is swarmed by many Hornets, they should escape with a Bubble, as Hornets will only fire if the player is inside their range. It is best to save at least 2 Bubbles in this Zone, as they are immensely useful for escaping and attacking players and mobs. In this stage, builds that have a fragile petals and slow reload may be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of mobs that will attack in this stage, especially while attacking Hornets and Hornet Swarms, which will shred the petals and leave the player defenceless. Therefore, the player is advised to use a Deathwheel build or a Balanced build, or switch out Stingers in a build for Wings. Before the player ventures into the ? Zone, the player should attack Dark Red Ladybugs for Rare Roses.
?[]
The ? zone, previously named the ??? Zone, also referred as Unknown Zone(some people even known as impossible difficulty), is the right-most zone located to the right of the Hard Zone. It is about 3/10 the size of each of the previous zones, but was originally the same size before the update on February 21, 2020 . It has a gray background, and all players can use their petals to attack, regardless of their level. Mobs:
- Beetle
- Massive Beetle
- Baby Ant
- Worker Ant
- Soldier Ant
- Queen Ant
- Ant Hole
- Centipede
- Spider
- Boulder
- Hornet
- Evil Centipede
- Ladybug (Dark)
- Square
Playing in the ??? Zone
In the ? Zone, the best players are crammed into an area only 30% the size of the Easy, Medium, or Hard zones. However, there still seems to be the same amount of mobs as the entire Hard Zone, and the best players in the entire game. The player needs to be able to heal incredibly quickly, and it isn't enough to simply keep Roses in the players inventory, instead, the player needs to keep the Roses inside their builds. Though roses can be found in abundance here, dark ladybug must be avoided, or there may be a swarm. In this Zone, it is better to help players out by killing Hornet Swarms, as they are a good source of XP, drop many rare petals, and the swarmed player is likely to remember to give the players that helped them a hand in their time of need. The player must remain wary of players following them, and should equip Bubbles to quickly escape if the need arises. The player should also remember that, unless that have a superiority in their petals, the player should avoid fights at all costs.
